Reef Services Develops Three Game-Changing Acid Additive Technologies Print E-mail

New Global Standard Established for Cost Effective Enhanced Stimulation

Reef Services unveils a breakthrough in acidizing technology with its recently developed AC-307, TAS-4, & TAS-E1 stimulation technologies, establishing a new industry standard for cost effective enhanced stimulation.  The triumvirate of products yielded excellent results through extensive field testing and is being released to market this week.

“These three new products represent game-changing products in acidizing technology for the industry.  AC-307 is the most cost effective iron control now on the market.  With TAS-4 and TAS-E1 a single additive can now generate the same results with what previously required four or more additives.  This reduction in required volume and the number of products to keep on hand greatly reduces the cost to the stimulation company, which can in turn be passed on to the production company,” stated Clay Baten, Reef Services’ President and CEO.

AC-307 - a “New Iron Control Technology.”  Historically, iron control products have been considered buffers, reducers, or sequesterants.  Reef’s AC-307’s new iron control technology inhibits the iron molecules from attaching to any other entity, such as asphaltenes, without adding significant structure to the iron molecule.  This reaction is instantaneous and complete with a small addition of AC-307.  Besides the technical breakthrough, other good news about AC-307 is the reduction of cost to the stimulation company.

TAS-4 - the “Total Acidizing System.”  The TAS-4 is the first acidizing product that combines corrosion inhibition, iron control, anti-sludge promotion and non-emulsification targeting, into one comprehensive additive package.  Unlike costlier alternatives, TAS-4 typically requires a mere six gpt to achieve equivalent or better results as both higher priced products and those which necessitate higher volumes.

TAS-E1 – the “Total Acidizing System Emulsified.”  Like TAS-4, TAS-E1 is the first acidizing product that provides multifunctional capabilities – corrosion protection, iron control, anti-sludge promotion and non-emulsification targeting, and includes an acid / hydrocarbon emulsifier.  TAS-E1 is added to acid and an aromatic solvent to create an oil external phase emulsion at a low six gpt add-rate.

“Reef is well?positioned to provide a market opportunity for its customers with the company’s transformative cost-effective technologies in acidizing stimulation.   We are incredibly excited to be offering these technologies to the market and establishing a new standard for cost-effective enhanced stimulation in the industry,” stated Clay Baten, CEO.
